The mermaid smoothie is all over the internet. It is a smoothie that uses exotic or tropical fruit as its base. Of course at Protein Essentials we added our collagen peptides for a protein boost. The smoothie is very sweet and delicious! It is perhaps a bit more of a dessert smoothie than a breakfast smoothie.
1/2 c dragon fruit *
1/2 c mango
1 small frozen banana
1 T coconut oil
1 T maple syrup
1 scoop Protein Essentials Collagen Peptides
Add the ingredients to a blender and blend until desired consistency is achieved. Enjoy!
* Dragon fruit is common in Southeast Asia. It has the consistency of kiwi, but it is fairly flavorless. It looks beautiful added to a fruit plate. Dragon fruit is easy to use – first wash the outside of the fruit, slice it down the middle length ways. Slice off the bottom, then peel away the bright pink skin. Slice or chop for your intended use.
